Amazon new fulfilment centre fast delivery Pennsylvania distribution centre

Amazon today announced the scheduled launch of two new robotics fulfilment centres, one in Akron and the other in Rossford, Ohio in their ongoing effort to strengthen their fast delivery promise.

The move will see Amazon expanding their logistics network to strategically allocate merchants’ stock closer to customers’ homes. Amazon FBA eligible members will be able to delight their shoppers with the accelerated same-day delivery offering.

Amazon say each fulfilment centre is more than 700,000 square feet and will be used to pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and toys.

All associates will go through hours of safety training and ongoing coaching and will have access to continuing education opportunities through Amazon’s upskilling programs such as Career Choice in which the company will pre-pay up to 95% of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.

Since the program’s launch, over 25,000 employees have pursued degrees in game design and visual communications, nursing, IT programming and radiology, to name a few.

Amazon’s fulfilment network supports millions of businesses of all sizes worldwide through its Fulfillment By Amazon offering, and many of those local organizations are based in Ohio. There are more than 55,000 authors, small and medium-sized businesses, and developers in Ohio growing their companies and reaching new customers on Amazon products and services.
